Field Geologists' Manual
The strength of an institution often lies in its local branches, where most technical discussions and advancements occur. The mineral boom of the 1960s sparked significant field geological activity, leading to the discovery and confirmation of substantial deposits of various minerals. Members of the Sydney Branch, a prominent branch of The Institute, were actively involved in these exploration efforts and contributed to the development of new techniques.
The Field Geologists' Manual, originally published in 1976, has become a valuable resource for field geologists worldwide. To address the ongoing demand and incorporate recent advancements, a second edition has been released. The Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy acknowledges the significant contribution of Mr. D. A. Berkman in revising the manual.
